Introducing our new E-ROAD with a unique design for demanding urban explorers. You will be able to move fast and safe in your city with this elegant and "Tendance" model without polluting. The E-ROAD is light, stable, sporty and maneuverable. It will accompany you for your daily commute to work, your quick errands and your trips around the city, effortlessly thanks to its pedal-assist system. No matter the distance you have to travel thanks to its 250W Brushless motor and its fully integrated and removable SAMSUNG 36V 10Ah battery with a range of about 80km*. It is mounted on a lightweight 6061 aluminum frame so you can enjoy every ride. Slowing down or stopping short is no problem thanks to its hydraulic disc brakes. To keep you worry-free, we've chosen a SHIMANO ALTUS 8-speed rear derailleur and a SHIMANO SL-ML315 actuator. An LCD display mounted on the handlebars shows you at all times the distance travelled (partial or total), speed (current / average / maximum) and also the assistance level, battery capacity, etc.

More about autonomy

A) The profile of the route (flat, moderate relief, high relief):

  • Urban: with many stops/starts which are energy consuming.
  • In the countryside: rather smooth and linear as on the road.
  • In the mountains: with a pass where the electric assistance will put extreme strain on the battery over a sustained period still in mountain biking with routes where the difference in altitude can be very significant cumulatively).

B) The type of bike, its weight and that of the user:

  • Example of a 25kg Dutch bike with a very upright rider position that offers a high air resistance for a person weighing 90kg will automatically "consume" more than a person weighing 70kg.

C) The type of tyres:

  • "Rubber", structure, size and section, but above all the optimal inflation of the tyres! Using an electric bike with under-inflated tyres can represent a loss of range (in km) of 30%.

D) Climate and outdoor conditions:

  • With the cold a battery naturally loses autonomy. The optimal temperature being between 15 and 25°C.

E) The assistance mode used:

  • If the user rides in eco mode he will of course be able to cover a greater distance than in Turbo mode. The integration of the battery into the frame gives it extra rigidity and better weight distribution, which makes the bike more dynamic. The battery is also better protected in the event of a crash.
  • 48V 13Ah battery (624Wh) = 120Km* - 75kg person in eco mode.
  • 36V 16Ah (576 Wh) battery = 80km* - 75kg person in eco mode.
  • 36V 10Ah (360 Wh) battery = 70-80km * - 75kg person in eco mode.

F) How many kilometres can I travel on an electric bike?

  • This is the big question we ask ourselves when we want to buy an electric bike and the answer is complex, as it depends on many factors. The first and foremost factor regarding the range of a fully charged battery is the energy stored in it, which is quantified in watt-hours (Wh) and obtained by multiplying the battery volts (V) by amp-hours (Ah). For example, a 48V13Ah battery has a full charge energy of 624Wh and a 36V16Ah battery has an energy of 576Wh. Once the concept of energy is well defined, we must see the power of the motor, which will mark the consumption of this energy.

A bicycle for legal use in the EU may have a motor with a maximum power rating of 250W, but it does not consume the same when it is running at the limit of its capacity in a climb of more than 20% (it can have peak consumption of about 150% of its rated power) as when we are using it quietly in a smooth area.

Once we understand this, we can also say that the cyclist who climbs a 20% hill using a low level of assistance doing most of the work by pedalling will have more autonomy than the cyclist who goes on flat ground, using a high level of assistance and making no effort at all leaving all the work to the motor...

To this factor, which is obviously the key to autonomy, we can add that factors such as the cyclist's weight, position, pedalling cadence and the number of times he/she starts and stops will also have a great influence, since the consumption peaks are caused when starting. The type of terrain (sloping or flat), surfaces (asphalt or road) and even the wind (headwind) as well as the type and geometry of the tyre also have an impact.

The type of tyre used will also have an impact.

For all these reasons, it is very difficult to provide accurate and reliable information about the range of the bike. The information we provide on our product range is aimed at a 75kg person who normally uses their bike, i.e. mountain bikes with combined use of uphill and downhill roads, city bikes with city trips with a fair number of start/stop cycles, etc.

We do not make any claims about the range of our bikes.

We don't advertise maximum autonomies, but real autonomies with tests without looking for particularly low consumption. We have managed to obtain autonomies of over 200 km by seeking maximum efficiency, but we understand that it would be dishonest to advertise them since the use of resources is not "normal". We can only add that the aspect that puts MOMA electric bikes ahead of the competition is precisely the autonomy, 100% of the professionals who have tested them have been impressed by these data, for us this is the essential in this type of "vehicle" and we are working every day to improve our batteries to the maximum having; a lot of energy storage capacity and; very efficient motors consuming as little energy as possible.
